How it works

Make the plan before you need it.

A good safety session starts with someone who understands what you are doing and agrees to be contacted.

Choose your people

Ask a trusted person to be part of your plan. Confirm how they can receive alerts and what they should do.

Set the session

Choose check-in timing and review location, microphone and notification settings before you go.

Check in. Then close it.

Respond when prompted. If plans change, tell your contact. End the session when you are finished.

If a check-in is missed

A grace and escalation process can follow. Exact timing and channels depend on the feature and your settings. An alert attempt is not proof someone received or read it. Talk through a backup plan.
