Support
A person reads every message. If something is wrong with your account, a session behaved unexpectedly, or you need data removed, write to us and say what happened — the more specific you are, the faster this goes.
Email: hello@safemeet.space
Business and team accounts: business@safemeet.space
We aim to reply within two business days. If your message concerns an active safety situation, contact your local emergency number first — we cannot dispatch help.
Delete your account
You can delete your SafeMeet account from inside the app, without asking us:
- Open SafeMeet and go to Profile.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Deletion is permanent. It removes your profile, your friendships, your trusted-contact links, your device registrations and push tokens, any sessions you created, and your stored location history. Anything a friend independently saved on their own device is theirs and is outside our reach.
Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Apple owns subscription billing, and no app can cancel a subscription on your behalf. Cancel first, then delete: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose SafeMeet and cancel. You can also open Apple's subscription management page directly.
Age and teen accounts
How old do you have to be to use SafeMeet?
Thirteen. SafeMeet is a general-audience safety service, not a kids app, and we do not knowingly open accounts for anyone under 13. When you create an account the app asks for your age range before it asks for a name, username or phone number, and our servers refuse to create an account without one. We record only the bracket — 13–17 or 18 and over — and never your date of birth.
What is different about a 13–17 account?
Three things, all enforced on our servers rather than just hidden in the app: there is no public safety profile page, the paid shareable public location link is refused, and the account is not returned by partial name search — someone has to know the exact username. Everything else works the same, and location is still only ever shared with people the account holder accepted.
Does a Family plan let the payer see a teenager’s location automatically?
No. Paying for Family grants Elite features to the members you invite. It does not create a location-sharing relationship. Each person still chooses who can see them, and can revoke it at any time.
Subscriptions and billing
Restoring a purchase
If you reinstalled SafeMeet or signed in on a new iPhone, open Profile › Settings › Restore Purchases. Your entitlement is tied to the Apple ID that bought it.
Refunds
Apple processes all App Store refunds; we cannot issue one. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us anyway if something did not work — that is how it gets fixed.
Common problems
A friend's location looks out of date
A shared pin is a timestamp, not a live video feed. iOS strictly limits how often a backgrounded app may take a location fix, and no app can work around that limit. SafeMeet deliberately shows how old a position is rather than implying it is current. There is a longer explanation in why a location pin goes stale.
Location stopped updating entirely
Check Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › SafeMeet and confirm it is set to Always with Precise Location on. "While Using the App" is enough to see your own map, but not enough for check-in escalation or Follow Me Home to work while your phone is in your pocket. Low Power Mode also reduces how often iOS delivers a fix.
Notifications are not arriving
Check Settings › Notifications › SafeMeet and make sure alerts are allowed. If you have a Focus mode on, add SafeMeet to its allowed list — otherwise a missed check-in alert can be silenced by the system before it reaches you.
A drive is missing from my history
SafeMeet records a drive when your phone classifies itself as being in a vehicle. Very short trips, or trips taken with location permission set to "While Using the App", may not produce one. If a drive you expected is missing, email us with the rough time and date.
An Evidence export will not open
An Evidence export is encrypted, and the recovery key is the only way in — we do not hold a copy and cannot recover one for you. Exports are released once and expire. If the page reports a service problem rather than a key problem, that is on our side; tell us and we will look.
Privacy and your data
What SafeMeet collects, why, and how long it is kept is set out in the privacy policy. To request a copy of your data or its removal, email hello@safemeet.space from the address on your account.
Reporting a safety concern
If someone is using SafeMeet to harass or track another person, email us with as much detail as you can. Location sharing in SafeMeet is opt-in and revocable at any time from the friend's card, and turning it off takes effect immediately.
What SafeMeet is not
SafeMeet alerts the people you chose. It does not contact police, ambulance or fire services, it does not monitor you on anyone's behalf, and it cannot guarantee that help will arrive. It is a safety aid built on a phone, with a phone's limits. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
