Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026 · SafeMeet LLC
This Privacy Policy explains how SafeMeet LLC ("SafeMeet," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with the SafeMeet mobile application and the website at safemeet.space (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
SafeMeet (safemeet.space) is an independent real-world personal-safety application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or associated with safemeet.us or any similarly named product.
1. Summary
SafeMeet is a personal-safety tool. To do its job it processes sensitive data — including your live location and, when you enable it, audio recordings. We collect only what the safety features require, encrypt sensitive data at rest, never sell your personal information, and give you controls to access or delete your data. The detail below describes exactly what we collect and why.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and authentication identifiers managed through our authentication provider.
- Location data — precise GPS location, speed, heading, and movement/activity classification, collected in the foreground and, where you grant permission, in the background, so that check-ins, Follow Me Home, and emergency escalation can function.
- Trusted contacts — names and phone numbers of the people you choose to share your safety status with. You are responsible for having permission to add them.
- Audio recordings — if and only if you enable the feature and the conditions you set are met (for example, a missed check-in or an SOS), the app may capture a short ambient audio clip.
- Device and technical data — device model, operating-system version, app version, battery level and charging state, push-notification tokens, IP address, and diagnostic/crash logs.
- Usage data — feature interactions and session metadata used to operate and improve the Service.
- Payment data — subscriptions are processed through the App Store's in-app purchase system or a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number; we receive only limited transaction and subscription-status information.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide core safety features: live location sharing, scheduled check-ins, Follow Me Home, distress alerts, and SMS fallback.
- To deliver push notifications and, where applicable, SMS messages to you and your trusted contacts.
- To process subscriptions, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Audio Recording & Your Legal Responsibility
Audio recording is an optional, user-controlled feature. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of audio recording is lawful in your jurisdiction. Recording-consent laws vary widely — some places require all-party consent, others one-party consent. SafeMeet provides a tool; it does not provide legal advice, and we are not responsible for your compliance with applicable wiretapping, eavesdropping, or consent laws. Captured clips are transmitted over encrypted connections, delivered to your designated contact via a one-time link, and deleted after download or expiry.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- With your trusted contacts — the location, status, and clips you direct the app to share.
- With service providers — vetted vendors that provide infrastructure, hosting, push and SMS delivery, authentication, and payment processing on our behalf, each bound by contract to process data only as we instruct.
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or SafeMeet.
- In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for the period required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Audio clips are short-lived and deleted after download or expiry. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Your Rights).
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights, and we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@safemeet.space. You can also disable location permissions or uninstall the app at any time, though doing so will disable the safety features that depend on them.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including strong encryption of sensitive fields at rest and TLS in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
We operate in the United States and may process and store data there or in other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties, including the App Store, cellular carriers, mapping providers, and our infrastructure, authentication, messaging, and payment processors. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Important. SafeMeet is a safety aid, not a replacement for emergency services, law enforcement, or professional security. Cellular networks, GPS, and push/SMS delivery can fail or be delayed, and SafeMeet does not guarantee that any alert, location update, or recording will be delivered. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimers and limitation of liability that govern your use of the Service.
